Before heading to the Speedway, save the essentials on your phone – your tickets, parking details, and the event schedule. Cell networks often slow down or become unreliable on race day because of the huge crowds, so don’t expect a strong signal everywhere. If you’re coming with a group, choose a meeting point and a backup time in case you get separated.
The 1.5-mile tri-oval at Las Vegas Motor Speedway delivers close, high-speed racing, and the grandstands amplify the sound. When the Cup Series cars are flat out, the noise can be overwhelming. Earplugs are recommended for everyone, and children should always have proper hearing protection.
Fans using taxis or ride-sharing services such as Uber should head to Lot 5, located on the south side of the track near Entry 10. This area is set aside for drop-offs and pick-ups, making it the most convenient location for rideshare users.
By mid-October, Las Vegas typically sees daytime highs in the upper 70s to low 80s °F (24–28 °C), with evening temperatures cooling into the mid-50s to low 60s °F (13–17 °C). Conditions are usually dry with low humidity, but brief showers are still possible, so a light poncho isn’t a bad idea. Staying hydrated is key – bring bottled water or use the fountains around the facility. Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses will also make the day more comfortable.
